People take vaccine, Basthi Dawakhanas help poor: Harish

Hyderabad, : Health and Finance Minister T Harish Rao today started two Basthi Dawakhanas at Bowenpally and Balanagar in the city here. The Minister urged the people to take vaccination to overcome corona infection. Harish Rao asked the MLAs, local leaders and officials to educate people to take vaccine doses without fail. The Minister said that the people have to follow corona protocols like wearing masks, sanitizing hands and maintaining social distance. Without fear and doubt one has to take vaccine doses and keep healthy and safe, Harish Rao said.
Since the Omicron virus, a new variant of Corona was found in Karnataka and other countries, we have to be more cautious. Taking the vaccine is the solution to address the virus infection problem and people should take it, he urged. He stated that so far 2.51 crore people took the first dose and 1.30 crore people took the second dose. We have to feel proud that 15th Finance commission has cited that Telangana is offering health services through basthi dawakhanas, he said.
The state government so far launched 258 such local hospitals with 32 basthi dawakhanas beginning on Friday in the city in addition to 226 existing, the Minister stated. These hospitals will provide necessary health services to the poor in the areas in the city. The government has provided all facilities in these basthi dawakhanas, he said.
Municipal and IT Minister K T Rama Rao also participated in a similar program at Shaikpet area with local leaders. The minister visited the basthi dawakhana and inspected the facilities. He interacted with the doctors who explained to him the medical services being offered. The doctors also conducted a BP test for the Minister.
