Hyderabad: Cops help organs for transplant reach hospital in record time

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Police in coordination with the Cyberabad Police provided a green corridor to an ambulance carrying human organs for transplant on Saturday, helping the vehicle reach the hospital in record time.

The ambulance carrying the organs, two kidneys and one liver, for beneficiaries waiting for transplant at the KIMS Hospital on Minister Road, started from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad at 1.23 p.m and reached KIMS Hospital at 1.48 p.m, covering the distance of 36.8 kilometres in just 25 minutes.

The efforts of the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police were appreciated by the KIMS Hospital management. This year, the Traffic Police has facilitated the transport of live organs on nine occasions, officials said.
