Hyderabad, The Telangana State is number one in the country in terms of warehousing (godowns) activities while theGujarat State is at last place, Irrigation and Marketing Minister T Harish Rao today claimed.
Harish Rao held a high level review meeting at Jala Saudha here and appreciated the officials concerned for the record level works. Harish Rao claimed that Telangana is number one in using godowns facility while Andhra Pradesh was in second position, Utharakhand third and Gujarat last. He asked the officials to give a report on warehousing activities in five days by making field level visits and expedite the works. The marketing and godown activities in Telangana are registered at 97 per cent in Telangana and the State is number one at national level, he claimed. He rang up Civil Supplies Commissioner C V Anand and asked him for reports on warehousing activities every month. A video conference on the use of godowns will be conducted in 15 days, he said.
The minister asked the officials to shift the stocks from the rented and private godowns to the government owned godowns. The minister said that Telangana is number one in ease of doing business, mission kakatiya, mission bhagiratha and others. Telangana achieved rapid growth in all sectors in three and half years Harish said. He said that Nizamabad agriculture market is number one in using e-Nam scheme and agriculture production increased significantly by using soil after lakes restoration in the villages. The minister said that the government will be giving 24 hours power supply to farm sector from Jan 1. Keeping the rise in farm production the government is involved in constructing godowns with 18 lakh metric ton capacity in the state, he said.
