Car Catches Fire—Occupant Driver Charred to Death

Sangareddy, Feb.20 (NSS): In a gruesome accident, a person driving a car was burnt alive as his vehicle was engulfed in flames on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Sultanpur in Ameenpur mandal this morning.

It was suspected that the car caught fire as it was going at very high speed possibly due to a technical snag. The car was proceeding from Medchal to Patancheru side. The fire totally burnt the car within no time giving no chance to the person driving the car to escape.  After putting out the fire, the fire and police officials found only skeletal remains in the car. The victim was identified as Ganta Venkata Giri,  a resident of Miyapur, while the registration of the car showed that it belongs to one Sridevi of JP nagar in Miayapur.

Policesaid that Giri left home at 9 am and was on way to his office when  the fire broke out in his car and burnt  him to death. After going through the CCTV footage, police  identified the car number as TS07GM 4666 (Maruthi Suzuki Celerio).  A  case was registered and further investigation is on.
