Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani warns cyber threats against Muslim beliefs  

 In a meeting with scholars and clerics in Qom on Tuesday, January 30, senior Shia cleric Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Alavi Gorgani warned cyber space threats against Islamic beliefs and Muslim community and said, “We must be prepared to prevent cyber threats in our society.”

Senior scholar added, “Today, the enemy is using cyber space to advance its conspiracies against religion and Muslims, so it’s essential for the authorities to address such threats and make practical efforts to neutralize them.”

Reiterating that a scholar’s words must be followed by actions to influence the society, Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani added, “One must try to gain knowledge and piety together in order to serve as an influential person in the society.”

“The most effective way to promote Islam is to act according to Islamic teachings and values; if one’s words and actions do not match, he or she is going in the wrong direction and is wasting his lifetime.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, the seminary lecturer asserted that Satan has sworn to deviate mankind from the right path of religion; “The only way to fight Satan is to follow religious orders and not give in to his evil temptations.”
